Bacchus Marsh Mid Century
Located on the historic ‘Avenue of Honor’ in the regional town of Bacchus Marsh, this agricultural property has remained in the same family since the mid 1800s. The original stone homestead still stands proudly, and in 1969, a second dwelling was added—a brick veneer home built off-plan. However, whilst packed with 60’s charm it was not designed specifically for its site. The house failed to make the most of natural sunlight, cross-ventilation, and the sweeping pastoral views.
This project was a test in Reuse, Restore and if Replacing - then Referencing. Opening up the floorplan and updating throughout.
